People are so used to concrete being one of the most solid materials one can build something out of — it can take shocks, absorb impacts, and support the prolonged weight of multiple vehicles at a time. One might think, then, that investing in a concrete coating is a moot point — maybe even a waste of money.
That assumption, however, could not be further from the truth. While concrete is indeed able to take quite a beating, it, like any other material, will eventually wear away, crack, and lose its strength after it endures enough stress for a long enough time. And, with something as foundational (sometimes literally) as concrete, you want to make sure that you protect it accordingly.
This is where concrete coating comes in. There are many different types of concrete coating depending on the formulation of your particular concrete and what you intend to use that surface for. Often, the assessment of the concrete and the site is best done by a professional, who can apply the concrete coating safely and correctly. This coating will help your concrete withstand common stressors for concrete surfaces such as the surface being worn away by tires, erosion from rainwater or snow, water freezing inside of cracks and expanding them, and so much more.
These problems and more cannot be entirely prevented, but the purpose of a concrete coating is to ensure your concrete is protected against these various dangers for as long as it can be, so that it will last as long as it possibly can.
